WHAT WE OFFER

PERSONAL TRAINING

While most of the training at DTF takes place in a group format during class times with individualized programming, we also have spaces available for individuals to train one-on-one or in small groups with Colin or Adam- both of whom have extensive experience with personal training.

These one-on-one training sessions can be hugely beneficial for an individual regardless of his/her fitness or performance goals. Additionally, they may be a better fit for those who need to train at times that do not coincide with regular classes.

TEAM TRAINING

DTF provides the opportunity for various sporting clubs or teams to train with us in our facility. With more and more sporting clubs wanting to adopt a more professional approach to training, DTF can provide research-driven, scientifically underpinned training methods specific to any particular sport which will be directly transferred to the pitch, court, track or pool.

If your team are looking to gain an edge over the competition, train functionally and maximise the rewards from your training efforts, please contact Colin or Adam directly

SPORTS MASSAGE

With Adam being a qualified Sports Massage Therapist, DTF has to opportunity to offer individual sports massage sessions on-site.

Sports massage can enhance pre-event preparation, prevent injury, reduce recovery time and increase performance during training or at an event. While many people from all walks of life also find that it improves their posture and flexibility.

Some of the common injuries that can be remedied with sports massage techniques are as follows:

  • Knee Injuries (Cruciate ligament Sprains)
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Adhesive Capsulitis (frozen shoulder)
  • Tennis & Golfers Elbow (medial and lateral epicondylitis)
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries (shoulder injuries)
  • IT Band Syndrome (Iliotibial band or runners knee)
  • Plantar Fasciitis (Foot surface pain)
  • Upper and Lower back pain (repetitive movements of the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine)
  • Ankle sprains (lateral ankle sprains account for 10-15% of all sporting injuries)
  • Achilles tendon problems (tendonitis (inflammation) or tendinosis (degeneration)
  • Sports massage is much more specific than a deep tissue massage. The aim is to work directly at the injury/ issue site and surrounding area. The massage will involve questions about the injury or problem, a visual assessment followed by the massage treatment (sometimes intense massage techniques) including stretching followed by home care advice.

NUTRITIONAL CONSULTATION

Sound familiar: counting calories, stressing over macro-nutrients, weighing and measuring food, obsessing over how many meals you think you should be consuming?

This is something we at DT Fitness & Performance encourage you NOT to do.

Your metabolism, unfortunately, does not work like a calculator where all you have to do is plug in your daily calories and all your problems will be solved. It adapts and reacts to everything you do.

You eat less and it will react by making you hungrier, decreasing energy, increasing cravings and slowing the metabolic rate. This is unsustainable, that is why we instead encourage you to create a nutritional plan that best fits YOU. In other words, create a dietary lifestyle that is easy to follow and does not involve mental arithmetic everywhere you go.

Here at DTF, we offer nutritional advice to all clients. After providing us with an account of your general food and beverage consumption, we will help you to identify nutritional dos and don’ts and advise you on steps to improve your nutritional intake to best suit your goals. Our aim is to equip all clients with the necessary nutritional understanding and knowledge through meal preparation tips, snack ideas as well as an overall better understanding of healthy nutritional strategies that are best suited their goals.
